Open Access FTTH platforms in Poland 2023. As per the Polish Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) in 2023 in Poland:

  • The total annual revenues from telecommunication services were PLN 43 billion, an increase of 6% vs 2022
  • The total value of annual telecommunication investments was PLN 11 billion, a drop of 1% vs 2022
  • The total value of the telecommunication infrastructure at the end of the year was PLN 54 billion
  • 9.5 million customers (8.3m individual and 1.2m business) were accessing internet through the land lines (51.6%) and 8.9 million through the mobile connection (48.4%)
  • 66% of households were using internet land access, vs 63% in 2022 and 55% in 2019
  • 73% of the revenue from internet was generated by the land lines (PLN 6 billion, 8% increase y/y) and 27% by the mobile services

  • 52% – 300 Mb/s to 1 Gb/s
  • 17% – 100 to 300 Mb/s
  • 13% – 30 to 100 Mb/s
  • 7% – 10 to 30 Mb/s
  • 5% – 2 to 10 Mb/s
  • 5% – 1 Gb/s and higher
  • <1% – 144 kb/s to 2 Mb/2

Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) – monthly average from the internet access via land lines:

  • 2023 – PLN 51.6 (5% increase y/y, whereas the average annual CPI was 11%)
  • 2022 – PLN 49.3 (4% increase y/y whereas the average annual CPI was 14%)
  • 2021 – PLN 47.5

Fiber network provided by the wholesale providers reached over 17,000 cities, towns and villages. There are over 1,000 cities and towns in Poland (with 23 million people) as well as over 43,000 villages (15 million people live there).
