Fiber Penetration in Central & Eastern Europe: 2030 Outlook

This slide was presented during the last FTTHCongressCEE organized by FTTH Council Europe, highlighting the region’s accelerating fiber adoption.

The latest forecast shows that by 2030, countries like Romania (95%!) 🇷🇴, Estonia (> 75%) 🇪🇪, and Slovakia (> 70%) 🇸🇰 are expected to lead in #FTTH (Fiber-To-The-Home) penetration in CEE, with Hungary (> 65%) 🇭🇺 and Poland (> 55%) 🇵🇱 also making significant strides.

The chart compares actual penetration rates from September 2024 with projections for 2030, underscoring the region’s commitment to digital infrastructure and connectivity.

ℹ️ Penetration is the percentage of households with an active fiber subscription to the total number of households in the country. In short – how many people are on fiber.

🚀 As fiber becomes the backbone of Europe’s digital future, strategic investments and policy support will be key to closing the gap and enabling inclusive growth.
